Your personal mission  

We are looking for someone to fulfill an important role in the R&D team, therefore we are actively looking for a Research Engineer that likes to be in a high-paced innovative environment.

At Nostics we develop ultra-rapid infectious disease tests. Our tests are able to identify bacteria and viruses such as Covid-19.

One of our tests is based on Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for label-free bacteria identification. This cutting-edge nano technology is rapidly developing and we need bright minds that can assist us in our research and further development.

Even though every day is different at Nostics, there are some key responsibilities that we would like you to take upon: 

  • Process, analyse and report on the results of experiments
  • Liaise with the other Research Engineers & data scientists about the results
  • Work closely with our Lead Engineer on the roadmap and milestones that need to be achieved

At Nostics you will be involved in the entire process of creation and validation. From analysis to the concept phase continuously optimizing towards an eventual solution. You will have heaps of freedom to solve and improve you and your project.

Job requirements

About you
To make sure you are the high energy colleague with the required qualities, you should maintain a certain skill-set. We’ve listed them for you, so you can make sure you check the boxes. 

  • You have a pragmatic approach to work 
  • You like to have a lot of responsibility and take initiative 
  • You're a teamplayer 
  • But also able to work on your own
  • Study the pollution and composition of nano layers on our SERS substrates.
  • Study of different types of SERS substrates and the interaction with biological samples.
  • Develop research results into products with our Engineers and QA officers.

Your background

This job is both exciting and challenging, but also incredibly fun!... It requires a background in both technical/analytical work as well as in working with several disciplines. Therefore, you are more a generalist with a lot of interest in different technical disciplines; 

  • Background in Physics, Physics&Astronomy, Biomedical, Material Science or Chemistry
  • Experience with SERS and/or Raman Spectroscopy
  • Experience with techniques like SEM and XPS
  • Experience with biological samples would be a benefit
  • Hands-on and independent

You will be involved in a lot of what is happening in the company, so confidentiality and discretion are crucial characteristics we are looking for.
